Birthday Month Continues :)  :)  Well it is one more day until my ACTUAL birthday...but we celebrated it on Sunday with that family.  Going to see Spiderman for my birthday.  The first one came out while I was in Toronto...saw it on my birthday.  So this works :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAU

More thoughts later!

Well!  Another year has gone by.  MAN time sure does fly.  :(  I don't think that is a good thing either.  It goes by faster and faster with each year.  SLOW down already!  Right?  :)  I try to keep that in mind in every decision I make.  Time does go by fast! So you better enjoy not only the moment but everything in between.  :)

FOUR years ago I was in Toronto...on my couch and I was telling all of my friends that I would be returning to America. I was stepping out in faith.  Beaten and battered from the stormy years previous.  How I even survived I do not know.  I think, upon my announcement, that my friends were shocked, excited, scared, and a little bit of every emotion in between!  Then again...so was I!

It would be a long journey with some very rough seas.  BUT I knew that the day would come when everything would be calm again.  A day when the sunsets would be as brilliant as heaven itself!  I told my mom that we would eventually sail the sea and we would witness sunsets that would make even God Himself smile.  :)  BUT WHO COULD HAVE DREAMED where we would be today?  Well maybe one or two people...but at the time :) not me!  I knew we would make some progress and I knew everything would be okay in the end. I did have faith in the final outcome.  I just never thought we would get there so fast.  I don't think ANYONE dreamed that.

In school, 100% sobriety - not even a lowertab from the dentist,  heading towards a Broadcast Meteorology Degree, thinking about going back to school for emergency management, Meteorological Specialist for Ballard and McCracken Counties of Western KY, the Disaster Vice Chair for four Western Kentucky Counties, a family that is finally seeing some peace amongst them, having started a nice business that is helping the family as well...building houses!  MAN WHAT ELSE????  :)  Then you have the SHADOW ANGEL FOUNDATION :) which is going strong with much growth ahead! A steady relationship for the first time in my life.  SCARY I know!  We have one best friend that was healed of Cancer.  We have another that is WELL on his way to retiring from his own business...well TWO friends actually!  Many awards later including national and regional awards!  WHAT ELSE COULD WE HAVE POSSIBLY EVER DREAMED?  I have been BLESSED and I don't ever forget that.

I know that I never could have made the progress that I have made without my family and close friends.  David has given so much to my recovery...Doug and Erick as well.  Kristy and Keri.  All of my family.  MANY MANY friends along the way.  You have Brett down in Birmingham and Kristy that moved mountains.  Immigration attorneys that have been on the ball!  You have fate that seemed to be around EVERY corner.  Incredible stories along the way.

This has been a SLAM dunk four years. How could it not be with a winning team like that made up of the names below!!!  I can only hope, dream, and pray that the next four are even better.  Is that even possible?  :)

THANK YOU David (who made me write down every goal along the way...even though I thought he was CRAZY - and yet he was virtually right on everything), Doug, Erick, Kristy, Brett, Keri, Joey, Sue, all of my family and so many other friends that I couldn't possibly name them all.  WOW what we have done!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND CELEBRATION OF FOUR AMAZING - INCREDIBLE - FIREWORKS BURSTING WITH FREEDOM - YEARS!

GOING TO SEE SPIDERMAN 3 FOR MY BIRTHDAY :)

Today I presented Kevin with his framed art-work.  Kevin completed the official logo a few months ago but we were waiting on the certificates to be completed.  This is the official frame and bronze plaque tag that says Shadow Angel on it.  Kevin received number 68 of the set.  His birthday year.  :)

Jason came over today and helped put up a new antenna for Ballard County!  YAY :)  We will finally have excellent coverage/signal for that county.  In the past there have been problems.  I can reach all the way to Wickliffe now without any issues.  This makes me a lot more comfortable when trying to help cover severe weather events for that area!

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive.  He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love.

It's not merely an emotional something.  Love is creative, understanding goodwill for all men.  It is the refusal to defeat any individual.

Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh   listen...can you hear
the wind blowing in the trees?  Can you hear
the birds singing in the morning?  Can you hear
the swooooosh of the falling star in the night sky?

Decisions decisions decisions decisions...do you go left or do you go right.  Do you stay on this path or do you hop over onto another path.  :)  Everything in life is about decisions.  Good decisions...bad decisions...neutral decisions.  Decisions that impact you...decisions that impact everyone else.  I guess that is what makes life interesting.  Creating yourself the way you want.

So I am trying to decide whether to go back to school again for this emergency management certificate.  It would be two semesters but would be four classes.  That would be on top of my two MS State Classes this Fall.  Sooooo that would be six classes.  See I did okay in math.  :)  Wait a minute...yes six classes.  Had to double check that.  :)

So the positives of this decision

Would look good on a resume...that coupled with the meteorology degree.
Would be helpful for the Red Cross
Would go hand in hand with my current position with emergency management
The time would go by fairly fast and it would be over with.  :)
Another 27 credit hours.  Always a good thing.
Would better prepare me to work inter-agency during disasters in our region.

Negatives...

A lot of class work.  On campus and off.
Wouldn't be able to take off for three weeks and disappear.  But could take off a week or so and disappear.  :)
I might miss out on a snow chase...okay well maybe that isn't a negative but well for ME it is!
Hmmm is that all the negatives.  I will have to think on that one.

So decisions decisions decisions.  If I commit then that is a big commitment.  Yeesh and a lot of homework.

Now if we would just hear from Canada...Oh Canada Oh Canada lalalalala let us hear from you.  New song I am working on.

Scattered heavy thunderstorms likely again today...flash flooding and hail the big threat.  Could be some isolated strong wind gusts.  Lightning a big problem as well.

Another storm moving in...MAYBE this time it will rain in Lone Oak!  Crossing fingers.
