JANUARY WARMTH CONTINUES :)  WILL IT EVER STOP????

January 16, 2006

Well it is still warm out.  We were in the sixties today...raining now.  Looks like a few thunderstorms tonight with a change to light snow tomorrow afternoon and evening.  HOPEFULLY we can get a dusting or so.  lol

Still waiting for winter.  We have had above normal temperatures for almost 25 days!

Start tutoring tomorrow for photography with one of the local photographers.  That should be good :)  Hope so at least.

More later...

Snowing here in Paducah...yay :)  Maybe we will get an inch or so.

Snowing!  YAY :)

UNBELIABLE HOW WARM IT HAS BEEN HERE

Very high winds in Paducah today. We have a high wind advisory. Winds have been gusting to nearly 50 mph. Tree limbs have been downed and some power outages.

I have never experienced a January as warm as this one. It has been one day after another since the middle of December with above normal temperatures!

The last 10 days[/b] of December were above normal...and EVERY SINGLE DAY IN JANUARY HAS BEEN ABOVE TO WELL ABOVE NORMAL!

UNREAL!

Helping to teach Family Service for the Red Cross today.  The meetings will be in Murray :)  Will be there most of the day.

More heavy rain coming for Sunday.  YAWN  IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SNOWSTORM...but not this year.  The warmest January I have ever witnessed.  GRRRR

Life is good...nothing new to report - that is good :)

Doug, Erick, and David all over in London.  I guess they are whale watching.  :)

During the month of March I will be in Canada for a few days and then I will be on my way to Japan!  My first trip to the island!  That is the current plan at least.  :)

Life in Paducah is mild and wet.  We picked up an inch of rain over the weekend.  No snow :)  heh.  Spring continues across the region.  Looks like more rain and thunderstorms for the coming weekend.  Not sure on severe weather though - I will keep an eye on it!

Had a great weekend otherwise...the Red Cross event on Saturday went well.  I have to teach on Thursday Night here in Paducah - Introduction to Disaster.  Should be fun.  Looking forward to it.

Shadow Angel Foundation activities are also going well.  Still gathering all the teddy bears together for the Rape Crisis Center and Child Watch.  I should have all of that finished by this weekend.  Hopefully I can deliver them by next week.

I do not see any snow in the forecast for the near term.  Just don't know what is wrong with our weather.  32 days of above normal temperatures...really gets old after awhile.  I will hold out for FEBRUARY!  Maybe it will snow then.  I swear next year I am going somewhere that has snow in January!  Forget this crap.  lol :)  On another note...it is snowing in Toronto this morning and Waterloo!  Lucky them!

The Shadow Angel Foundation will be putting together another weather radio event for the month of March.  A bit different than last time.  This time around Channel Six will be giving away two radios per day for five days and then they will be running their REECOM Wx Radio special on their web site for the rest of the month.  Hopefully my new logo will be finished by then.

Doug and Erick are still in London...David is back home though.  I think they have all had a great time.  I look forward to visiting the city at some point in the future.  Maybe later this year...who knows.

That is all for now :)

over and out

Taught a large class night at one of the local churches.  Over 30 people were in attendance!  Very nice crowd.  I taught Introduction to Disaster - Red Cross training.

WELLLLL THE WARM WEATHER CONTINUES!  We have had 37 days in a row of above normal temperatures across this region.  TOTALLY INSANE WEATHER!  Nobody can complain about this winter!  February is quickly approaching and then SPRING!  SOOO if we can make it one more month :) we are done with SERIOUS winter.  We shall see.  I am going to continue to hold out for SOME snow in February!

Another rainy weekend is in store for this region.  We should pick up 1/2 inch to perhaps a bit more.  The rivers are at flood stage.  We actually don't need more rain.  Areas around us are in drought...they do need rain.  I still believe we could see the drought spread back into this area as the year rolls on.  Something to watch.

We are still in teddy bear mode here in Paducah.  I believe we have enough bears now for the Rape Crisis Center and Child Watch.  I just finished going through the bears this morning.  We still need to bag them up :)  Here is a shot of some of the bears as they wait for packing :)

Waiting to be packed  :)

DAY 38 of above normal temperatures!

HERE COMES THE RAIN!  AGAIN :)

PADUCAH RADAR AT 3 p.m. this afternoon...heavy rain heading this way AGAIN.

Paducah Radar

SNOW NEXT WEEKEND?  I will be watching a storm moving out of the Rockies and into the southern United States.  HOPEFULLY this will bring a chance for snow to the area.  Time will tell...could be more rain!  heh

THIS COMPUTER MODEL IS SHOWING A BIG SNOWSTORM, NEXT WEEKEND, FOR THIS AREA :)  LONG WAY OFF - plenty of time to watch.  Could be fun though.  Will not get too excited yet!

Well out snowstorm looks more like rain on the latest models.  Hopefully something will change :)  We need the snow...lol :)

JANUARY IS OVER?????  ARGH :)  What happened to January?  Winter will be over here soon enough.  I guess one more serious month and then we head into SPRING!  Looks like COLDER weather is FINALLY on the way and some chances for snow.  I hope at least that will be the case.  Several indications of a pattern change on the maps.  Will keep watching the potential for cold and snow!

Life is going well here in Paducah.  Staying busy with a few new projects and going to this group program each night.  Everything is going well.  I am happy about that.

Everyone in the family is doing okay as well.  So good news all the way around.

Doug and Erick made it back from London.  I think Erick fell in love with London.  I can't wait to go myself.  I am sure I will love it as well.

President speaks tonight - State of the Union.  I guess I will Tivo it :)
