Shadow-Angel Foundation Announcement :)

TEDDY BEAR PROJECT II

The Shadow Angel Foundation announces a partnership with the Rape Crisis Center and the Child Watch Children's Advocacy Center both of Western Kentucky.

The Rape Crisis Center Covers the eight western most counties of Western Kentucky.

Ballard
Carlisle
Hickman
Fulton
McCracken
Graves
Calloway
Marshall

This group represents all ages of children to adults.

The Child Watch Children's Advocacy Center also works with children throughout Western Kentucky.

Child Watch handles child abuse cases.  They do screenings of children that have been abused.  Child Watch also will follow children through the court system.  They do counseling and provide other resources to children and families of abused children.

Both organizations have had major budget cuts during the past year.  State and Federal Governments have cut their funding. The Shadow Angel Foundation will be donating a one year supply of teddy bears to each group.  That would be approximately 300 teddy bears.  We recently purchased around 800 bears from Carlton Cards of Paducah and Nashville.  The bears were also shipped in from several surrounding states.  Carlton Cards had the Russ Teddy Bears and Gund Bears on sale for 75% off!  An incredible price for high quality bears.  These are the same type of bears that were handed out after the tornadoes hit the area in 2003.

The teddy bears will be delivered tomorrow (Wednesday) during the noon hour.  WPSD TV 6 and the Paducah Sun are going to cover the story.  :)  It should air tomorrow evening (Wednesday Evening).

Here are some pictures of some of the bears as we were getting them prepared for delivery -

Everything went really well today.  The Rape Crisis Center could use a lot of help it sounds like.  They were very excited to receive three boxes of copy machine paper.  Their office supply budget has been spent and they won't be back up for new money until June.  One of my friends from Ballard County is going to try and get them some more paper.  Little things seem to mean a lot to some of these groups!  Hopefully we will continue to be able to help them in the months and years ahead of us.

News Channel Six had a story on at 6 pm tonight.  Should be in the newspaper tomorrow.

The March winds blow...

Give me release
witness me
I am outside
give me peace

Heaven holds a sense of wonder
and I wanted to believe
that I'd get caught up
when the rage in me subsides

Passion choke the flower
'til she cries no more
possessing all the beauty
hungry still for more

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...
and I wanted to believe
that I'd get caught up
when the rage in me subsides

In this white wave
I am sinking
in this silence
in this white wave
in this silence
I believe

I can't help this longing
comfort me
I can't hold it all in
if you won't let me

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...

In this white wave
I am sinking
in this silence
in this white wave
in this silence
I believe

I have seen you
in this white wave
you are silent
you are breathing
in this white wave
I am free

It is the sweet madnes
...the surrender
the uncertainty of the unknown

It is not knowing tomorrow...from today
It is the longing for that one wish to come true
and the emptiness that follows.
The hope that sinks...that rises - one day one - the next day the next

it is the sweet madness
...the surrender
the uncertainty of the unknown

I have everything...but nothing

March

And you have extremes.  You have happiness...you have sadness.  You have smiles and you have tears.  You have the sun that rises in the morning and then sets in the evenings.  It is all part of the cycle.  It is what life is supposed to be about.  Without sadness we would not know how to be compassionate.  Without tears we would not know how to show love.  Without happiness we would not know how to celebrate life.  It is the extremes that make all us who we are.  It is that which makes us human.  There is nothing wrong with crying...there is nothing wrong with laughing.   Without both we would not know how to do either.  I am not depressed by that which brings me sadness.  I am saddened by that which brings me sadness.  But...I understand that without the sadness that surrounds me - I would never understand true happiness.  I have learned much from the past five years of my life.  I have learned more in the past five years of my life than the previous 28 years of my life.  I have learned more in the past two years of my life than the previous 32 years.  And that is saying a lot.

My Angel and HERO Erick!!!!!  DJ - Making Music in Toronto!  It is not about the music you play...it is
about the memories you make while you are playing that music.

FRIDAY

We now approach tornado season.  I am watching a storm system moving out of the Southern United States.  RIGHT NOW it appears that it will travel south of this area.  There is a chance that the track could shift to the north and west of here.  If the low tracks through Missouri then we will be in the warm sector...and this would place us in the threat for severe thunderstorms.  Will continue to watch this storm system evolve.

Saturday...

Went with Julie and Danny today to see his play.  Had a great time :)  We ate a Trebecca (spelling?) Mexican Food...and then went to see the play.  Danny did a SUPER job as always!  It was good to see both of them.  It has been awhile.  They have moved into their new house that they rebuilt near Grand Chain.  Hopefully I will be able to go see it later this week or next.
