I am sure this will go to her head.  A DIVA IS BORN!!!! I don't think Kristy has any idea how difficult it is to raise a diva!  :)

Fun day in Key West :)

We went Parasailing...and walked around the island.  It is warm down here today.  It is in the 80s.

Sunset Key West - Wednesday RAYS!

Thursday, February 3, 2005!

We are on the plane now :)  YAY...back to the COLD NORTHLANDS of Western Kentucky!  Hope it snows soon...I am ready for Spring (if it isn't going to snow).  Four more weeks till meteorological spring begins!  Bring it on!

It was hot in Key West today.  I think it was the hottest day so far.  We have managed to not get too burned.  I think we have pretty good tans though.

Everything is going great back home.  I am sure Dione will be thrilled to see us :) along with mother and grandmother.  Dione has prob been lonely at the house.

Let me see...random thoughts of the day :)

Lot of stuff to do around the house.  I need to get everything ready for tax season.  That should be a lot of fun.  I need to go through all of my paper!  I am also in the process of cleaning out all of the rooms in the house.  If it isn't being used then it is going to be boxed up and put in the attic!  I am tired of clutter :)  Spring cleaning EARLY I guess.

Hmmm what else is going on...

Nothing new out of the Toronto crew.  Norman is doing very well.  He has been working hard on his foundation work.  I am very happy for him.  He seems to have found a new purpose in life.  That is never a bad thing.

There is a lot of work to be finished with the Red Cross here in Paducah.  I am working on a five year disaster budget for them.  I am sure David will laugh at that since I have a hard enough time keeping my budget in order :)

Doug, Erick, Keri, Brian, Shaun, Dru...and on and on and on in Toronto are all doing great.  That is the word I get at least.  I miss them all very much.  I wish we all lived in the same country...same city :)  It is hard having friends living so far away.  It does give me an excuse to visit.  That is not a bad thing.

Kristy and Lucy are coming to visit next week.  Cheetah is thrilled to finally be meeting Lucy!  lol  Two divas...I am sure we will have our hands full.  I guess I need to work on our plans for the weekend.  I think I will take Kristy to the Superman Statue :)  She needs to have her photo taken with it!  I will have to make room on the photo wall for that one!

Key West was fun.  The ocean is always a good place to go and get away.  We stayed longer than I realized.  I guess when I made the flight plans I didn't realize just how many days that was.  I guess that is ok though.  I didn't miss too much winter weather back home.  One or two small snow and ice events.  Nothing major though.

Looks like it could become stormy next week.  Maybe some heavy rain or even thunderstorms for our area.  I will be keeping an eye on that.  We are heading back into storm season.  March usually is the beginning.  Nobody is looking forward to tornado season.

Julie and Danny are moving into their new house soon.  I believe in a couple of weeks.  I am so excited for them.  I know it will be hard though.  They rebuilt on the same site that they lost their other house on.  I can't wait to see the place.  Should be really nice.

I will have to try and have Kristy meet Julie next week.

I don't know much else.  :)  I guess that is enough for now.

Monday...February 6, 2005

Rainy and cloudy days.  Sun pokes through but then disappears.  Mild though.  Where is winter :)

Working on the house.  Getting things super organized.  It is actually coming along pretty nicely.  I think I will have everything finished for the arrival of the queen and her diva on Thursday :)

Ok well you know...Lucy - the shutterbug

Thursday, February 10th

Minor earthquake here this morning.  The quake measured 4.0 and was felt throughout the area.

A preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey said the quake, which hit at 8:05 a.m. four miles east of Caraway, had a magnitude of 4.2. A quake of magnitude 4 can cause moderate damage.

"I mean, it was shaking," said John Cannon, who was roused awake by a 2 1/2-second rumble in Memphis, 50 miles south of the epicenter. "I thought someone got in the bed with me. It was strong."

The quake was centered in the New Madrid seismic zone, which covers portions of Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee. One of the largest earthquakes ever to strike in North America, estimated at magnitude, 7.5 was centered at New Madrid, Mo., during a series of temblors in the winter of 1811-1812.

Kristy and Lucy are arriving this evening :)  We are eagerly awaiting their arrival.
