I hope that everyone has had a Happy New Years Eve and Day!

Warm warm warm down here.  Temperatures are 25-35 degrees ABOVE normal ARGH!  I can't get snow with temperatures like this! :)  I am concerned about rainfall though.  It appears we could have some flooding problems over the next 3-5 days.  Something to watch.  The rivers are still high.

Mother is coming home today from the hospital YAY :)  I guess she will be staying here with me for one week or so.  She said she is going home after that.  She is feeling much better and we think everything is going to be ok.  Hopefully 2005 won't bring as much sickness.

Mother has made it home.  We went out to eat this afternoon (Crackle Barrel of course).  Grandmother, Mother, Dione, and Mariah went.  We then went to the mall.  Mother had to do some Christmas Shopping.  We are having Christmas for the adults this Friday or Saturday.  The kids have already opened their gifts!

Raining here - rain - rain - rain and more rain!  We have picked up over an inch since the rain started on Friday.  I think we will see another inch or two before it is all said and done.  Rivers are going to rise again.

Working on Shadow Angel projects and keeping busy.

:)

Rain and more rain!  We are soggy here in Western Kentucky.  Rain continues today...and more will likely fall over the next three days.  Major ice storm is possible across portions of the Ohio Valley into New England.  We will miss most of the frozen precip.

Working on projects around the house.  Going to Nashville tomorrow to get some DJ equipment, so we can play our vinyl!

January 4, 2004

Spent the day in Nashville going from mall to mall looking for teddy bears. :)  We found a bunch!  Russ Bears!!!!

We also got our DJ Equipment for the front room.  Music can't be far behind!  :)

Some of the music equipment...turn tables and
speakers.

First song we played was Unspeakable Joy - Kim English :)

Rain Rain Rain...someone stop the rain!  Rivers are going above flood stage.  Lot of standing water around.  Hopefully we see a break soon in this pattern.  We should see rain here through tonight and then more next week.  Wet, wet, wet.

Oh and Lucy down in Alabama - Kristy sent me a new photograph.  :)

HUGE ICE STORM HAS HIT THE MIDDLE UNITED STATES.

WORST ICE STORM IN DECADES FOR SOME AREAS OF OKLAHOMA, KANSAS, MISSOURI, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, OHIO, PENNSYLVNIA.  MORE THAN 2 INCHES OF ICE IN SOME AREAS.  THOUSANDS OF TREES AND POWER LINES DOWN IN SOME COUNTIES ALONE.  MAJOR FLOODING ALSO REPORTED FROM MISSOURI TO OHIO.  WE ARE LOOKING AT A SERIOUS RIVER FLOOD SITUATION DEVELOPING HERE IN THE TRI-STATE AREA.

MORE HEAVY RAIN NEXT WEEK.  DANGEROUS FLOOD SITUATION LIKELY.

HERE ARE SOME PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE ICE STORM.  PHOTOS TAKEN BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN THE HARD HIT AREAS.

We are having Christmas here at the house later this afternoon. :)  About time!  The kids have already opened their Christmas gifts.  They did that at the hospital two weeks ago.  The rest of us will exchange gifts today.  We are also having dinner here at my house!

We had a great time last night.  We had ham to eat  :) yum!  Grandmother seemed to have a really good time (as she always does).  I will try and post a few pics later.  I actually didn't take too many :)  can you believe that.  I had fun though.  The kids played pool and video games while everyone else talked.  Daddy and Deb came over.  This was the first time to were able to see the house.  Daddy said something about an elevator!  lol  :)

Looks like an extremely active week - weather wise.  We could see our first outbreak of severe thunderstorms in this region.  We are also going to have major flood problems.  We are already having major flood problems and it is only going to get worse.  I am definitely starting to get concerned about just how high the river may go.  Metropolis could see some serious flood damage (among other towns and cities).  Hopefully things don't get crazy.

We could see temperatures into the 60s this week before they fall off into the single digits.  A roller coaster ride.

Tuesday :)

Been really busy here working on different projects. Have not been in a photo mood I guess.  Soooo!  I did get my lightning data working online :)

http://nowcast.usawx.com/screenshot/teststorm.html :) so that is kewl!  Now if I could get my weather instruments up and running...we will be in business.  David is wanting to know the temperature down here :)  I hope I can get it fixed.  His dad already beat me in getting his up and running.

We are being overrun with teddy bears here at 465 Ashcreek.  I will have to do a teddy photo soon.

Thunderstorms here earlier this morning, some severe weather tomorrow then possibly a winter storm next week.  How much more active could it be.

Playing music at the house tonight. :)  We put up a few lights also!

Been under the weather for the past two days :)  So haven't felt well at all.  The rivers keep rising around here.  Major flooding in many areas.  Not much anyone can do about it.  Just have to wait for them to go down.  People who live in these flood areas should sell their houses and move elsewhere.  There are government programs that will help buy people out and move them.  It is frustrating when people have to help the same people over and over again...just because they don't want to move.  Hard to feel sorry for people that build in a flood plane and go through this every few years.  Anyway, that is the river situation.

Lots of thunderstorms and wind last night.  Pulaski County and Johnson Counties had wind damage this morning.  They had a tornado warning at 3 am.  Not sure if there was a small tornado or if it was just high winds that caused the damage.  It moved very close to where the big tornado hit in 2003.  Weird.  That area seems to get hit a lot.

It is much colder now.  Temperatures have fallen from the sixties into the thirties.  We should be in the teens this weekend.  Brrrr

At least the rains have stopped.  I guess that is the best news of all!
