Good grief...I just starting browsing my log files through my server.  Never really looked at them before.  There have been over 616,000 hits to this web page.  lol  The new weather page I have running has had a ton of hits over the last 48 hours.  Waiting for the data on that.  It was over 13500 as of Thursday.  So no telling what it is now...with the hurricane.  :)  Sort of fun to watch the numbers though.

The weather site that I started last year has had nearly 100,000 hits!!!

So anyway today was hot again.  It was 100+ across Western Kentucky.  We were supposed to get a break.  That did not happen.  What can you do!  Nothing.  It should remain hot through the end of this next week.  We are going to start breaking all sorts of records - most days of 100 and above, most days in a row of 90+ temps, rainfall records - no rain.  We have had 0.00" here so far this month.  Incredible.  This is a terrible heat wave for this region - for any region for that matter.  Let's just all hope that it comes to a quick end.  Enough is enough!

I guess everything is running smoothly around here - again.  Being gone for six or seven weeks sure does allow the mail to pile up!  I believe I have caught up though.  I have not been able to track down a few friends though.  I guess they are missing in action.  They might have thought I moved away.  lol  I guess I need to call them.  Email and text messages will only get you so far.

Daisy has gained about five pounds.  Not sure if that is a good thing or not.  The hot weather and her don't get along.  Pugs are not good in hot weather.  Kristy told me that Daisy shouldn't be out if the temperature is above 80 degrees.  So we only take her out for 5 minutes...she does her thing and then bring her back in.  :)

I think tracking hurricanes is addictive.  I have no idea why.  It just is.  Perhaps it is the grandiose nature of these storms?  They are HUGE.  They release so much energy.  Amazing when you think about it.

Watching Dean
The weather room is in full hurricane mode tonight.

I need to pull myself away from watching the storm.  I wish I could have chased it!  It is on my list of things to do...just need to do it.  Hoping to get my passport back this week.  I need it to go to Canada in a few weeks.

No rain again today.  It almost rained.  We had a sprinkle but nothing that amounted to anything.  The total for the month remains at 0.00" - can you believe that.  NO rain the WHOLE month.  Scary.  This drought needs to go...and soon.  I feel sorry for the farmers.  I know this is hurting them.

WOW I just spent some time reading this

A must read!  Hilarious.  Sounds like the kind of adventure that I would love.

Meetings today with an accountant.  So that will be fun.  Tracking hurricane dean as it nears Mexico.  Looks like it will be a Cat 4 or 5 when it strikes.  Horrible situation for that region.

We might get some rain late this afternoon or tonight with the remnants of Tropical Storm Erin.  :)  Will keep hoping!  We need the rain.

Larry Cosgrove on Fox News!!!!  Way to go Larry!!!!

Dean moves ashore in Mexico.  Cat 5

Spent all nigh tracking Dean.  My online friend Josh is alive and well.  He made it through the southern eyewall.   Amazing.  The storm hit Mexico as a Cat 5.  Horrible damage I am sure.

School starts today!

Holy cow the new weather website has had 157000 hits - most of those in the last four days!  I guess the hurricane is bringing a tremendous number of visitors.

Okay let me just say that my homework today was hard.  I am not a fan of calculus and the lectures today were like trying to understand some foreign language.  :)  Man...it has been awhile since I have had anything like this.  OH WHAT FUN!  Not.  Okay so I will just take it one day at a time...no stress.  Just do my homework and stay the course.  :)

No rain today.  No rain for the entire month here at my house.  NOT EVEN 0.01" - NOTHING - NADA!  When will it rain again?  I am starting to think it may not!  It always does though.

Someone on EasternUSwx posted a photo of some of the trees starting to turn up in the northeast.  It is just a matter of time now!

Going to have dinner with Dione and Tommy tonight.  That is the plan at least!

Oh dear...homework is a bit harder than I expected.  Worked on it from 11 a.m. this morning until 6:30 tonight and then from 9 p.m. until midnight!  I have a blister on my thumb.  Not very happy about these courses.  I hate math.  I have had lots of math but I hate it.  But whatever!  I just hope I can handle the tests.  If the homework takes this long....welllllll  :)

Okay enough complaining about homework.

It is hot.  How hot it is?  According to the NWS we are having the hottest month EVER in the history of Paducah.  Also the driest.  Not a drop of rain has fallen here this month - okay well we did have 20 drops the other night.  How much did it add up to?  ZERO.  So there you go.  SAD SAD SAD.  When will it rain again?  Soon I hope.  Perhaps this weekend before MORE hot and dry weather returns.  We can't win.

I will be gone all weekend to a family reunion.  So maybe it will rain!  lol

My niece Ashton is playing in the band :)  Here she is last weekend...

Heading to Chicago this afternoon.  Family reunion.  Will be back on Sunday Evening.  Lot of storms up north...not here though.  Looks like a moderate risk for Central and Northern Illinois.  Perhaps I will get some storms up there!  Can't get them here.

There is a chance that cooler weather will move in next week.  Long range models CONTINUE to show this solution.  Let's just hope they are correct this time!

We all had a great time up in Chicago.  I haven't seen some of my cousins for several years now.  Was nice to see them and catch up.  :)  Grandmother is doing okay...she has had a few problems over the past few weeks - she is hanging in there though.

The weather was AMAZING.  Temperatures in the 70s!  Felt more like Canada.  They are still recovering from the big storms last week.  Lot of wind damage and flooding.

I took a few photos...missed a few people though!
