Well we had a computer meltdown today.  The lap-top decided to blue screen me to death.  We applied CPR but were unable to revive the poor thing.  It is now at the city Morgue.  Not sure they will be able to recover any of its vital organs.  We shall see.  In the meantime David has lent me his laptop and we are working on getting another one.  So it will be a bit of a struggle to update!

Joseph is flying in today.  His plane is supposed to land in Buffalo, New York around 6L30 p.m.  We are going to check out the falls after that.  Probably be back in Waterloo on Wednesday.  That is the plan.

Watched Citizen Kane last night (Sunday Night) for the first time.  Interesting movie.  We never could figure out who RoseBud was.  We were a bit surprised at the end.  Surprised or upset...one or the other!!!!

Damn you RoseBud.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MARIAH!!!!!

I believe she has turned 15!!!!

More later...

Made it safely to Niagara Falls.  Fast trip from the Buffalo Airport.  We took the Rainbow Bridge to come across.  Never been on that one!

Everything is good here!  Still working on the lap-top situation.  Seems to be down for the count.  Will see what we can salvage!

I witnessed one of the most incredible scenes yesterday in the city of Buffalo, New York.  In all of my years of working disasters I have never been witness to the amount of tree damage as I saw yesterday while driving to the airport.  I was stunned by the shear magnitude of the disaster.  Last winter Buffalo experienced a record lake effect snow event that brought an early season accumulation of the white gold.  It was the heaviest and earliest the city had ever experienced such an event.  The leaves were still full of leaves and this caused tremendous damage to limbs and power lines.  Some areas were without power for weeks on end.  If someone had told me the amount of damage in this region I would probably not have believed them.  My mouth simply dropped open when I entered the Buffalo City limits.  I don't believe there is a single tree that has not been touched by this disaster.  I have witnessed tornado and hurricane damage in a number of areas across our nation but nothing compares to the extent of damage in this region.  I would imagine this would be only compared to the great ice storm, a few years back, in Quebec.  Absolutely stunning damage here in Buffalo, New York.

This is what the entire city looks like.  Sad for a city that
prides itself on its beautiful trees.
