FRIDAY IN CHINA

Today we are going to tour part of "old" Beijing.  The area has not changed much over the past century.  The city 
has left it that way on purpose.  We will also be eating at a residence in Beijing...in the old part of the city.
The family will cook for us.  Should be a fun day ahead!

You see these little vehicles running around the streets of the city...

Market area.  We were walking around and stumbled across this area of the city.  A lot of small streets and alley ways.

Small streets.  Barely large enough for cars.  Mostly bike traffic.

This is one of the little police stations...these guys are playing Chinese Chess out front.

Beijing...

This is "old" Beijing.  All of those wooden houses are VERY old.  Some of them have not changed for more than 200 years.  The city
is keeping this region the way it is.  You are not allowed to build new structures here.

We decided we would ride through the city streets in style.  :)

Beau found a friend... :)  Very cute puppy - his name was Bean heh

This lady and her family cooked for us.  We had a huge lunch.  They just kept
bringing more and more food.  This family used to bring oil and other goods to the emperor.

Old Beijing

This is a local artist.  He paints with his fingers.  Some amazing artwork.  David and I both
bought some of it.

This is one of our tour guides.

These are the ducks that we had to eat on Thursday Night.  One of them at least.  They
served us Duck tongue, duck heart, duck feet, and so on.  I stuck with the "basic" duck
eatables.  I didn't eat the above.  heh
