TOKYO, JAPAN

April 6, 2006

We have arrived safely in Tokyo. The high speed train took about 2 hours to get us here. Fast train! It was nighttime through most of the trip.
You could tell though that Tokyo is a VERY LARGE city! This will be a much different pace than Kyoto.

For those back home...
HERE WE GO AGAIN
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OUTBREAK LIKELY ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
Tornadoes are a real possibility.
This is the storm prediction center outlook (they will update in the morning)
ALL of the region has the threat for severe thunderstorms

SEVERE WEATHER RISK - The yellow is a moderate risk - one away from high. They may upgrade tomorrow morning
to a high risk across portions of Missouri.

This is the probability map for severe weather. This is an extreme potential. The hatched area in red is going to
see hundreds of severe weather reports.

New photo from KFVS 12 from the Pemiscott County, Missouri area. Incredible twister. April 2

David and I went sight-seeing today. We visited a BEAUTIFUL park right near the hotel. It is right on the ocean as well.
There were fields of flowers, Cherry Trees, and all sorts of native plants. It was almost like Central Park in New York City.
You could see a portion of the Tokyo Skyline in the background. There was a little "tea hut" area that we had tea
at. They always serve you green tea here in Japan. It is supposed to be good for you. It actually does taste pretty good.
It was a beautiful day here in Tokyo. The temperature was about as perfect as one could imagine. At least the rain
has stopped for now. I have not checked the forecast for the rest of the week. I suppose I should do that.
We took a boat ride through a portion of Tokyo. It lasted about an hour. It was really nice outside...actually got
a little bit of sun! The water was peaceful. Most of the route was lined with Cherry Trees.
We were able to ride the subway late this afternoon. It was not as crowded as I expected. I think we hit it at a slow
time of the day. It is a VERY complex subway. There are trains going in every direction you could imagine. The
subway map looks like a plate of spaghetti! It was fun trying to figure out where we were. David did a pretty good
job though...and of course I added my input. lol
Okay well here are some photographs from today!
