December 2005!
December 4, 2005
A rather rainy and stormy night around Ashcreek! Lot of cold air as well. Steam is coming off the pool out back.
I guess it is called me to swim!
My friend in Kingston emailed me these photos...takes David B :) VERY NICE!

Updated Forecast
POSSIBLE SNOW THIS WEEK???? :)
Chance for a SNOW event on Wed and Thursday! A significant storm could pull out of the Gulf of Mexico and will push
enough moisture into our region to produce a frozen precipitation event. Current models show several inches of snow possible
across our area. It is WAY too early to make a call...I am interested though in the storm system!
Stay tuned!

Am more confident this morning that we are going to see out first snowfall of the season on Wednesday Night and into Thursday.
It appears that 1-3 inches of snow could fall across the region. This storm is still a long way off but shows promise of bringing the
area a WHITE end to the week! Will keep watching.
A second snowstorm is possible later in the weekend...this could be an interesting be days ahead WEATHER-WISE!
It appears my wishing might just pay off.

BREAKING NEWS FROM CHANNEL SIX!
They have reported 3000 orders for the Reecom Weather Radios! This is the program I talked about a month ago.
THAT IS JUST AWESOME!

-----
Monday Evening...
Looks like snow will move into the area on Wednesday Night and Thursday Morning. I still believe 1-3 inches is the best bet.
IF we can get a snow cover going then low temperaturs on Friday and Saturday could go below zero across portions of Missouri and
Illinois. Temperatures across this region will fall into the teens. Very cold weather! The next storm system is already on the horizon
and could move into the region on Sunday Night and Monday. This could be a frozen event as well. Still time to watch that one!
Winter storm watches are already in effect across Oklahoma and Arkansas! Expect Snow Advisories around here to be issued by
Wednesday Morning.
My forecast for the winter is 15" of snow for Paducah. :) That would make two years in a row for double digit snowfall.
I also believe temperatures will go below zero again this winter season! That would also be two years in a row.
Stay tuned!

Sunny outside but a very cold morning! We had 17 degrees! BRRRR :) Still looks like some light snow on
Wednesday Night and Thursday. Nothing major but enough to make for a tracking snow. I still believe
1-2" across most of the region. Some of the computer models are showing 3-6 inches across portions of the
region. I discount these forecasts and do not believe they will verify.

Next weeks storm is starting to look like a warmer one...this could be
bad once again for this region with the potential for severe weather. Too early to determine that. Things
seem to change quickly in the winter. Just have to wait and see. I will keep my fingers crossed for some
winter weather and not spring weather.
Lots to do today...Christmas and otherwise.

Early Morning Snow Update :)

Snow continues to appear likely across Western KY and Southern IL.  I am still going with 1-2" for most areas.  There is still some debate on the models as to just how much snow falls.  It appears that is the best bet right now.  Higher amounts to our west/northwest and then again to our northeast.

Snow Advisory will likely be issued for most areas by the NWS later this morning.

Temperatures this morning are as low as -8 across portions of Illinois!  VERY COLD AIR!  Impressive.

I think I must be living in the wrong area :)  Looking at these snow photographs.  I would love to live in Vermont.  I am defin going to drive out there next year and see the "country".  I would love to spend at least winter out there.  I need my SNOW!

heh

I have one photograph I REALLY want to get in the snow...down on 45 towards Graves County.  Maybe tomorrow I can get that photo heh.  We shall see.

where are you...what happened to this
promise that we had.  You are missed.
Truly.

Snowstorm heading for Kentucky.  Heavy amounts expected further east of this area.  It appears Paducah will get a mixture of sleet, snow, and freezing rain.  Amounts of 1-2 inches still appear likely although some heavier amounts are possible around this area.  Roads will be slick.

Precip moving into the area...this band is a mixture.

OUR FIRST WINTER STORM OF THE 2005 WINTER SEASON

FORECAST UPDATE

Snow is falling across most of Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois.  Reports as of 10 a.m. indicate 1-3 inches has fallen over much of this area.  Western Kentucky is in the grips of an ice storm.  Ice continues here in Paducah...we are closing in on our fifth hour of pure ice.  Lot of accidents reported.

Ice will continue for another couple of hours before we change over to snow.  I still expect 1-2 inches for this area.

Snow is finally falling here in Paducah!  Lots of ice underneath the snow.

SNOWFALL TOTALS and STORM INFO

Snow storm leads the news tonight around this area.

Snowfall Totals
3.5" Sparta, Illinois
2.5 Carbondale
2.0 Mound City, Illinois
3" Poplar Bluff, Missouri
3" Benton, Illinois
1-2" Massac County
2" Pulaski County
1/2-1" Paducah

I went with 1-2 for Massac and McCracken Counties and seemed to hit that mark just fine.  Didn't do so well for Calloway County and did okay for Graves County.  We got more ice than I expected.

ASHCREEK SNOWFALL - DECEMBER 8, 2005!

YAY I GOT MY SNOW!!!!!!!!  NOT BAD FOR THE
FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON!

Some of these areas that are expecting sig snow in the Ohio Valley and into the DC area might be in for a bit of  a surprise.  Low is not forming as expected and that is not going to help their snow.

My Fav Song :)

Today is John Lennons day.  There are no countries.  There is not boundaries on the map.  They DON'T exist.  They are MAN MADE.  Same as time!  They are not REAL!  They are simply a product of politics.  The world is ONE.  It is not a bunch of borders!  It is one.  Anything else is a lie!

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

John Lennon

A very white Paducah this morning and I am loving EVERY minute of it.

OH WOW AN UPDATE!
Narnia was AWESOME
King Kong was AMAZING!
Things have been busy and well whatever the last few weeks. heh Christmas FAST approaches! :) I am almost ready the for the holidays.
I am holding out SOME hope for at least a FEW flakes on Sunday. I won't hold my breath though because I might just pass out.
Norman made it through his latest surgery okay...Doug and Erick are doing well in Toronto...Keri is coming to visit on the 28th from Toronto.
and as far as I know David is well. Everyone else is moving along just fine as well.
Over and out...at least for now

how far do I have to search on my Computer to find Angel? How much, how long, how many minutes :) does it take? About 1 minute on search! heh Why?
Listen to the words and figure it out. Heh...some days I am lost...some days I am Hammer on nail. Then there is tomorrow or the next day! Confused? I can't
figure this web page out? I can only post some things...but not all? But why? :) Because some tell me what I can and can not post! lol :) not true...but true!

I got tired of posting about weather! I got tired of just posting the same thing every single day! Soooooo maybe I should change my style. Start posting
how I feal! Start posting who I am! You think? Scary thought for some :) but not me! I am tired of trying to be something I am not. I know...for some that
in itself is confusing. Well whatever...I am just going to post what I want to post. I don't really care what some say...it is my web-site and I am going to just
be me.
You either love me...or hate me. I am the same person today as I was 2 months ago! And so be it
Let me start here... :) WHY? Because this is me...either you get it or YOU DON'T

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it OK
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction or a beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference, escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
In the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

You're in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here
